The spaceThis A-frame cabin provides amazing views of the Minong Flowage lake, especially at sunset.
The master suite is large & provides a private space to retreat for two guests at the end of the night. In the loft, you have 1 full and two twin beds + a fold out futon.
The outdoor deck spans the entire house with a convenient gate to keep all young ones (and furry friends) safe. Open the gate and you are just steps from the water with a sand bottom.
The cabin is hooked up to well water with a filtration system that is great!
It is important to note, there is no air conditioning in the cabin. There is a nice breeze from the lake that will cool down the cabin through open windows but in the hotter months the temperature will rise. In the winter, the area does experience extremely cold temps. Space heaters and the wood burning fireplace help keep you cozy during your stay.
Lastly, when the cabin is not rented we do personally use the space so you will find some of our items here. We also have two pups that hang out with us here. They are never allowed in the loft but do spend time in all of the main level areas. The house is thoroughly cleaned but if you have severe allergies this unfortunately may not be the cabin for you.
This cabin is year round with multiple fun activities in each season. Winterized for your coldest nights and close to the lake for the hottest summer days.
What will your weekend look like?
WINTER: Cozy up for a winter getaway. Burn a fire and play boardgames or pop in a VHS. Looking for more adventure? Snowmobile on the trails or take a day trip up to Spirit Mountain and hit the slopes, only an hour drive!
SPRING: Watch the ice melt from the lake while burning a fire inside, or get lucky with one of those warm spring days on the lake! Watch the lake come back to life with birds and animals running about as the weather warms.
SUMMER: Take out the canoe or simply swim along the sandy shoreline. With multiple restaurants, sand bars and fishing spots on the lake your options are endless.
FALL: Take to the trails and rent ATVs from nearby spots, there are 100s of trails straight from the cabin. Hike the gorgeous nature preserves in the area and take in the beautiful fall colors. End your night with a fire (inside or out!)
Guest accessYou will have access to all parts of the house, yard and dock. We do have neighbors in close proximity but they are truly great, we just ask that you respect their space.
Additional notesThe cabin is in the woods! The property backs up to 100's of acres of county owned woodlands. This means bugs and creatures are unavoidable. Keeping window screens on and doors shut will help limit the amount of bugs inside the cabin and picking up trash and food outside is important!

Neighborhood overviewMinong flowage is one of the most popular lakes in the area. With multiple restaurants on the lake, sand bars & events in the area there is something for everyone. It is big enough for water sports & is a great fishing lake. In town, you will find everything you need for shopping & fun. Our cabin is located in the middle of 100s of miles of ATV/snowmobile trails for all of your riding adventures. Take a day and explore Duluth or Spirit Mountain, only 1 hour drive.
Getting aroundThere is a grocery store in town along with a handful of other shops & restaurants. You will need a car. There are also many off-road trails accessible from the cabin.
